For this 35th edition, the art of sharing is in the spotlight this year. Set up by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, this weekend is an opportunity to understand the richness of our heritage, and the importance of sharing it to promote understanding </ strong>. The whole city of Nîmes is mobilizing to make this event a time of meeting and conviviality. Discover the program!

Nîmes history

Usually closed to the public, the Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Castor Cathedral, the House of Protestantism or the Courthouse (and many others) will be exceptionally open this weekend. Guided tours are organized and will reveal their hidden treasures! Nimes also has a large number of mansions, witnesses of the flourishing bourgeoisie from the late Middle Ages to the eighteenth century. You will have the opportunity to admire the courtyard of the Hôtel de l’Académie in Rue Dorée. Guided tours of all private mansions are organized, departing from the Tourist Office on Saturday and Sunday. Finally, you will be able to (re) discover the unmissable monuments of Nîmes like the Magne Tower, the Maison Carrée!

Museums with free access

From the Carré d’Art to the Museum of Taurine Cultures, Nîmes is home to many museums that will be exceptionally open all weekend. If you have not yet had the opportunity to discover the new Museum of Romanity, we invite you to it! From Antiquity to the Middle Ages, the collections retrace the history of the rich heritage of Nîmes in an innovative way: immersion screenings, augmented reality and virtual tours are on the program!
